Ten years

ITPB completes ten years and the celebrations will be held tomorrow. We haven't quite come to terms calling it ITPB and still refer to it as ITPL despite the change in name after Ascendas took over the maintenance beginning of last year.

There have been lots of changes in the last four years that I have been around. Two new towers came up, a hotel construction's underway and TCS opted to build their own tower which is far from completion. ITPB, once a green park is now turning into a cement, steel and RCC park. We lost half of the cricket ground to Navigator, another patch of green to Taj hotel and yet another to TCS tower. One can only speculate what's going to get sacrificed to accommodate more square feet of office and commercial space.

Looking down from the windows of Discoverer, eleventh floor I wonder when will they stop.

Another significant loss we suffered during Ascendas take over was the removal of pool room. Both pool tables were removed to expand fitness centre, which in itself was not a bad idea. But the loss of pool tables is immense as playing pool was the greatest pastime for us at ITPB.

Anyway, life goes on. And we will have fun tomorrow at KK's concert. I hope the admission is free!
